Obituary : Willard H. Bogenschneider
Willard H. Bogenschneider, 73, 326 Church St. Theresa, died Sunday, June 20, at
St. Agnes, Fond du Lac.
He was born May 27, 1926, in Town Theresa, son of Alvin and Elsa (Krueger)
Bogenschneider. On Oct. 11, 1947, he married Phyllis Weiss at St. John's
Lutheran Church, Mayville.
Mr. Bogenschneider was employed by the Berg Farms. He later worked for Guelig
Construction. Together with his wife he farmed in the township of Theresa for
many years. Later he was employed by the Joan of Arc Canning Company, and
currently was a milk truck driver for Widmer's Cheese Cellars.
Mr. Bogenschneider was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Theresa,
where he held many offices. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea
from 1946-1947. He was a member of Miller-Justman-Guelig American Legion Post
#270 of Theresa. He belonged to the Dodge County Civil Defense. He served as
town supervisor and town chairman for the township of Theresa for a total of 16
years. Willard was a past member of both the Knowles and Theresa fire
departments, past member of the Dodge County, ASCS, and was a charter member of
the Theresa Lions Club, holding many offices.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; one son, Lonn (Linda) of Theresa; three
daughters, Lona (Joseph) Schaefer of Sheboygan, Lyra (Dave) DalleNogare and Lynn
(Kevin) Haefs, both of Lomira; one brother, Harvey (Frieda) of Theresa; two
brothers-in-law, Earl (Geraldine) Weiss of Iron Ridge and Gerald (Liz) Weiss of
Hustiford; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, his parents-in-law, and
his grandparents.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home,
Mayville, and also at the church on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of
services.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Theresa, with Rev. David D. Aderman officiating. Burial was at Union
Cemetery, Theresa. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Miller-Justman-Guelig
American Legion Post #270 of Theresa.
Koepsell Funeral Home, Mayville, served the family.
